Mimi is a sweet little Doxie mix girl whom we found abandoned on Cypresswood and 45.  Her family has never been found.  And why would anyone abandon this cutie you might ask.  I wonder this every single day.

Who couldn't love this little girl.  She is so sweet.   The "Kiss Me" caption is so accurate as this little girl loves Kisses and to be loved on.   It is the best gift in the world to be greeted every day when I come home from work with unconditional love.  Loves to play with tennis balls and absolutely is energetic.  She will chase the tennis ball all over the living room.  No more tennis balls it will be racket balls from now on.  She can destroy a tennis balll....lol
She is very affectionate and loves to snuggle on the couch and sleep with her foster Mom. She will sleep in her crate if you insist but I prefer puppy snuggles.  She will cry if you get out of her site but does not mind you leaving for work.  Mimi will make the best addition to any family although it will very hard to let her go.   I am not sure how Mimi would do with an older person at this time because she does get up under your feet.   She and her fur sister get along well although Mimi will try to get more attention as she is younger than her fur sister.  I have been unsuccessful in getting better pictures but difficult to do alone.  This girl may just make me a foster failure.

Mimi is heartworm positive and is being treated currently.

Leash, house, and crate trained.  She does very well walking on a leash and very inquisitive about everything she encounters. This girl has absolutely captured my heart.

Please contact  app@aarfhouston.org for more information about this dog. You can apply online by clicking on Application .

Puppies that are under 4 months old cannot be adopted outside of our Veterinary Service area.  Please call for specific locations.

Children under 8 years old often are not a good match for our puppies and dogs.   In order to protect both, your child and our rescued dogs/puppies from harm, we seldom if ever adopt to families with young children.

Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet and greet at one of our adoption events.  Thank you for considering a rescue!

The adoption fee includes vaccinations, Bordetella, de-worming, rabies, spay/neuter and microchip. There is a an additional $12.99 fee for Home Again for a lifetime registration of the microchip.

Puppies cannot be adopted outside of the Houston area until they are spay/neutered after they are 4 months old.

It is against the law in the State of Texas for a rescue not to be sterilized so we have to make sure it gets completed and that we have record of it.

NOTE: In our bios, we provide information based on our volunteer's experience with a particular dog; such as temperament, training, and ability to get along with others.

AARF is a 501(c)3 Non Profit, all breed, no kill organization. Our group is always in need of donations in order to continue to give the needed medical care to our rescues. Adoption fees do not begin to cover all of the medical costs. Any donation , no matter how small is a big help and is greatly appreciated. Please help us to continue to help them. Thank you.
