Hope has been under my care for almost 3 weeks.

She is a beautiful female white/tan shaggy dog.

Her story:

With the help of a couple other rescuers and a AARF, she was able to be pulled out of one of Houston's highest stray populated area (5th Ward) which is crowed with hundreds and thousands of stray dogs.

Named Hope in honor of Rusty (RIP), a stray poodle mix rescued, a day earlier to finding Hope. Rusty was humanely put to rest at the vet the same day that he was found due to extensive injuries. Basically if Rusty had not passed, then Hope wouldn't be here and probably still living as a stray until she passed.

Hope's Profile:

Weight: 30 lbs

Age: About 3-4 years old

Full vet medical check 3 weeks ago. Solid good physical condition.

Dewormed and fully vaccinated.

Gets along well with other dogs (male and females). She does growl a little at the other dogs to let them know when they get too close to her bed, but other than that she will not initiate a fight at all.

Will not growl at people or children. Is not aggressive at all towards adults or children (Her foster has a 2 and 3 year that play with her)

Is very loving and playful, but spends most of her day relaxing and sleeping in her bed/kennel.

LOVES to ride in the car!!!

No fur shedding! BONUS!!!

Crate trained and house trained.

Favorite snack: Blue corn Chips and Beanito's chips!

Favorite activity: Goof around and chase with foster's Labrador on back/front yard.

Favorite item: Her comforter on her bed.

Commands: Learned so far "SIT" and "OFF". Has significantely reduced her jumpiness and whining for attention.

Loves to sleep in bed with family, but seems to ultimately prefer her bed in the laundry room (placed a baby gate on entrance of laundry room).

Doesn't cry or whine at all throughout the night.

She is available for immediate adoption and she comes microchiped and spayed.

Attached a couple current (short hair) and previous (1st found) pictures of sweet HOPE. Her hair is short at the moment due to extensive matting in her fur. Looks like she spent at least 6months-1 year abandonded in the streets.

She is really a catch!

Hope is looking for a serious furever home, a family that will love and care for her unconditionally and never abandon her.

The adoption fee includes vaccinations, Bordetella, de-worming, rabies, spay/neuter and microchip. There is a an additional $12.99 fee for Home Again for a lifetime registration of the microchip.

Puppies cannot be adopted outside of the Houston area until they are spay/neutered after they are 4 months old.

It is against the law in the State of Texas for a rescue not to be sterilized so we have to make sure it gets completed and that we have record of it.

NOTE: In our bios, we provide information based on our volunteer's experience with a particular dog; such as temperament, training, and ability to get along with others.

AARF is a 501(c)3 Non Profit, all breed, no kill organization. Our group is always in need of donations in order to continue to give the needed medical care to our rescues. Adoption fees do not begin to cover all of the medical costs. Any donation , no matter how small is a big help and is greatly appreciated. Please help us to continue to help them. Thank you.
