Great news!  As of August 2014 I am Heartworm NEGATIVE!!!!  I'm a very happy boy, now.

Hi!  I'm CHANCE.  Did you know that by May 2013 I was on TV, met a celebrity and was in the newspaper!

I'm a through and through Texas dog - I like it HOT!  My foster parents and siblings, even my foster grandma, is from Chicago.  They like it cold cold cold...brrr.  I love my foster family but would love a real Texas home.

Look at my face!  You know you want all my adorableness in your home and life.  Adopt me, I'm CHANCE!

I was a good boy at the Houston Pet Expo on Saturday, 04/13/13.  Not only did I behave FABULOUSLY I also met star, Shorty Rossi, The Pit Boss.

I am doing AMAZING!  In fact I am doing so well that I represented AARF on the TV Show "For the Love of Dogs."  I'll admit it I was a ham!  Watch the video and you will see how loving and wonderful I am.  I laid on host, and the founder of American Dog Rescue Foundation, Arthur E. Benjamin's feet and put my head in his lap towards the end of the segment.  My foster mom didn't even coach me to do that.  See I'm just that adorable!

I came to AARF hopeless - I gave up on life.  With good nutrition, medication, medical treatment and lots of love I found my spark for life again.  Now, nothing can stop me.  My foster mom and AARF even raised money to put me in hydrotherapy to strengthen my legs.

I can sit, stay, lay down and I'm working on returning when I'm called.  I have found my love of flying.  Humans keep saying I'm riding in the car but it feels like flying to me.  I love going out on the town.  I do well in crowds, loud, busy and highly stimulating environments.  I like to be bathed/groomed, with nail clippings, teeth and ear cleaning.  I know I'm even more handsome when I'm groomed.  I like all dogs and I know my manners.  I'm not thrilled with cats.

I want to find my FURever Home (TM).  Your family isn't complete without me, Chance.  Adopting me will be the best decision you can make.

Update on Chance. He has had his FHO surgery and is recuperating at his foster home. He was allowed to go to normal activity today.

Chance is in real bad shape. He is currently staying at our vet until he gets over his dermatitis and gets treated for heartworms. Then he will be neutered and ready to go to his new home. Chance has had a really hard life and all he wants to do is be loved and to love. He deserves the best family we can find for him. Are you the right one to receive his unconditional love? Please contact Vicky at  info@aarfhouston.org   for more information about this dog or to schedule a meet and greet. You can apply online by clicking on Application . Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet and greet at one of our adoption events. Thank you for considering a rescue!

AARF is a 501(c)3 Non Profit, all breed, no kill organization. Our group is always in need of donations in order to continue to give the needed medical care to our rescues. Adoption fees do not begin to cover all of the medical costs. Any donation , no matter how small is a big help and is greatly appreciated. Please help us to continue to help them. Thank you.
