My name is Arlo. I’m a handsome, highly intelligent, funny, charming, lovable, extremely energetic boy. I’m not really a puppy, but I still act like one much of the time. I need lots of attention and a job to do. I am not one to be stuck in a crate and left alone for long periods. I like all humans, but I’m too rough for little kids. I move hard and fast, and don’t always put on the brakes. I like other dogs, but I can be protective of my food and toys. I’m really hoping to become a therapy dog, or something cool like that. I can run fast and jump high, so I would be awesome at agility.True to my breed, I also like to herd my sisters. I’m enjoy doing fun activities and learning, and I’m a good cuddle buddy for TV. I really like shows with animals, especially other dogs. I need a parent who can recognize and appreciate my amazing abilities, and will continue to bring out the best in me. Is that you?
that are under 4 months old cannot be adopted outside of our Veterinary Service area. Please call for specific locations.
Children under 8 years old
often are not a good match for our puppies and dogs. In order to protect both, your child and our rescued dogs/puppies from harm, we seldom if ever adopt to families with young children.
Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet and greet at one of our adoption events. Thank you for considering a rescue!

It is against the law in the State of Texas for a rescue not to be sterilized so we have to make sure it gets completed and that we have record of it.
NOTE: In our bios, we provide information based on our volunteer's experience with a particular dog; such as temperament, training, and ability to get along with others.
AARF is a 501(c)3 Non Profit, all breed, no kill organization. Our group is always in need of donations in order to continue to give the needed medical care to our rescues. Adoption fees do not begin to cover all of the medical costs. Any donation, no matter how small is a big help and is greatly appreciated. Please help us to continue to help them. Thank you.
